Auch die neue Wettbewerbsrunde richtet sich an 13- bis 23-Jährige, die ein nachhaltiges Interesse am literarischen Schreiben haben. Eine hochkarätig besetzte Jury wird erneut die eingereichten Texte sichten und die besten für eine Veröffentlichung auswählen. Die Jurorinnen und Juroren suchen zudem vier Hauptgewinnerinnen beziehungsweise Hauptgewinner aus, die sie exklusiv betreuen werden. Die Ausgewählten haben ein Jahr lang die Möglichkeit, mit ihrer Mentorin oder ihrem Mentor an den eigenen Texten zu arbeiten.
Für diese fünfte Runde stehen die bekannten Autorinnen und Autoren Ruth Johanna Benrath, Annegret Held, Jens Schumacher und Ken Yamamoto als Jurorinnen und Juroren und damit zugleich als Mentorinnen und Mentoren zur Verfügung. Bewerbungsschluss ist der 23. Oktober 2017.
