Förderfähig sind ausschließlich Projekte, die im bundesweiten Maßstab Modellcharakter haben. Die Vorhaben sollten sich thematisch an der Definition von „Kultur im engeren Sinne“ der Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung orientieren. Mit Kultur im engeren Sinne werden die Künste und ihre Hervorbringungen bezeichnet: Bildende Kunst, Literatur, die darstellenden Künste (von Theater über Tanz bis Film), Musik, die angewandten Künste wie Design und Architektur sowie die vielfältigen Kombinationsformen zwischen ihnen. Die maximale Zuwendungshöhe beträgt 100.000 Euro. Es handelt sich um ein zweistufiges Antragsverfahren. Zunächst kann eine Projektskizze bis zum 31. Juli 2017 eingereicht werden.
