Kulturstaatsministerin Monika Grütters MdB hat am 28. Juni im Bundeskanzleramt die Studie „Frauen in Kultur und Medien. Ein Überblick über aktuelle Tendenzen, Entwicklungen und Lösungsvorschläge“ des Deutschen Kulturrates vorgestellt. In der Studie wird für einen Zeitraum von über zwanzig Jahren untersucht, wie es um die Geschlechtergerechtigkeit im Kultur- und Medienbereich bestellt ist. Dabei wird sowohl die Ausbildungssituation, die Präsenz von Frauen in Führungsetagen von Kultureinrichtungen, die Partizipation von Frauen an der individuellen Künstlerinnen- und Künstlerförderung und anderes mehr über einen Zeitraum von 20 Jahren in den Blick genommen.
Ein zentrales Ergebnis der Studie ist, dass, trotz stärkerer Präsenz von Frauen in einigen Bereichen, von Geschlechtergerechtigkeit nicht die Rede sein kann. Das gilt gleichermaßen für Kulturverbände. Kulturstaatsministerin Monika Grütters MdB kündigte als erste Maßnahme die Einrichtung eines Runden Tisches an, der Ideen entwickeln soll, wie die Chancengerechtigkeit im Kultur- und Medienbereich verbessert werden kann.
