Gleich drei Kultureinrichtungen erhalten in diesem Jahr den mit insgesamt 18.000 Euro dotierten »Innovationspreis Soziokultur« wegen ihrer beispielhaften »Kulturarbeit jenseits der Metropolen«. Mai 2016 zwei Initiativen aus Mecklenburg-Vorpommern und ein Vorhaben aus dem Westerwald zu den diesjährigen Preisträgern.
Der mit 10.000 Euro verbundene Hauptpreis geht an das Theater Kulturkate aus Lübtheen in Mecklenburg: Das Projekt »Grenzfälle« hat 25 Jahre nach der Maueröffnung Szenen aus dem deutsch-deutschen Alltag während der Teilung auf einem Floß inszeniert und in mehreren Stationen auf dem damaligen Grenzfluss Elbe zur Aufführung gebracht.
Mit dem zweiten Preis wurden zu gleichen Teilen zwei Projekte prämiert: eine dörfliche Initiative in Rheinland-Pfalz und eine ländliche Kultureinrichtung in Vorpommern.
4.000 Euro Preisgeld erhalten die AsphaltVisonen aus Hattert im Westerwaldkreis.
