Die momentane Entwicklung macht den Preis so aktuell wie noch nie zuvor: Das beherrschende Thema in der öffentlichen Diskussion ist die große Anzahl an Flüchtlingen, die in Deutschland Asyl sucht.
Auch 2016 werden Unternehmen, Schulen und Initiativen, die in beispielhaften Projekten bei der Integration in Ausbildung, Sprache und Beruf helfen, mit dem DEICHMANN-Förderpreis für Integration ausgezeichnet.
Der Förderpreis für Integration gliedert sich in drei Kategorien:
In der Kategorie 1 werden kleine und mittlere Unternehmen ausgezeichnet. In der zweiten Kategorie können sich Vereine, öffentliche Initiativen, kirchliche Organisationen sowie private Engagements bewerben. Hier geht es beispielsweise um regelmäßigen Sprachunterricht oder die Vermittlung von Kontakten und Weiterbildungsmaßnahmen. In der dritten Kategorie werden schulische Präventivmaßnahmen gesucht.
