Die Universität Koblenz-Landau und das Kulturbüro Rheinland-Pfalz werden künftig im Bereich Freiwilliges Soziales Jahr (FSJ) an Ganztagsschulen zusammenarbeiten. Am Montag, 31. August 2015, unterzeichneten Universitätspräsident Prof. Dr. Roman Heiligenthal und der Geschäftsführer des Kulturbüros Rheinland-Pfalz, Lukas Nübling, eine entsprechende Vereinbarung.
Ziel dieser langfristig angelegten Kooperation ist das wissenschaftliche Erforschen des Zusammenwirkens von FSJ-Erfahrungen der jungen Frauen und Männer sowie einer späteren Entscheidung für den Lehrerberuf. Durch diese gemeinsame Initiative sollen wissenschaftliche Ergebnisse für die Weiterentwicklung des FSJ an Ganztagsschulen wie auch für die Lehramtsstudiengänge gewonnen werden. Die Forschungsarbeiten werden innerhalb der Universität vom Zentrum für Lehrerbildung am Campus Koblenz wahrgenommen. Durch den gegenseitigen Austausch versprechen sich beide Kooperationspartner Verbesserungen für ihre Beratungs- und Betreuungsarbeit.
„Die wissenschaftliche Begleitung ist wichtig: Bei positiven Untersuchungsergebnissen kann etwa die Beratung am Zentrum für Lehrerbildung gezielt auf die Relevanz einer FSJ-Erfahrung eingehen“, erklärte der Leiter des Zentrums, Prof. Dr. Hans-Stefan Siller. So könne zum Beispiel im Rahmen der Forschung geklärt werden, ob sich die Erfahrungen im FSJ an Ganztagschulen positiv auf den Studienverlauf für das Lehramt auswirke, wenn bei Studierenden mit diesen Vor-Erfahrungen festgestellt werde, dass weniger Studienabbrüche oder weniger Fach- oder Schulformwechsel auftreten. Wäre dies der Fall, wäre es nahe liegend, dass die Universität gezielt solche FSJ-Absolventinnen und -absolventen für ein Lehramtsstudium zu gewinnen sucht.
Auch der Geschäftsführer des Kulturbüros, Lukas Nübling, freut sich über die Kooperation: „Die Studierenden wissen durch das Freiwillige Soziale Jahr, worauf es in der Praxis ankommt und können bereits vor dem Studium ihre Eignung für den Lehrerberuf realistisch einschätzen. Wir freuen uns über das Engagement junger Menschen, unabhängig davon, ob sie später Lehramt studieren möchten oder nicht.“
Universitätspräsident Prof. Dr. Roman Heiligenthal betonte den Mehrwert für die Universität: „Die Kooperationen des Zentrums für Lehrerbildung sind für die Verknüpfung von Theorie und Praxis in der Lehrerbildung von hoher Bedeutung“. Das Kulturbüro Rheinland-Pfalz lobte der Präsident als „wertvolle Einrichtung, die es jungen Leuten ermögliche, schon früh soziale Verantwortung zu tragen und eine erste Orientierung hinsichtlich ihrer Berufswahl zu erhalten. Durch die Kooperation kann die Bedeutung des sozialen und bildungsbezogenen Engagements für Studium und Beruf noch besser erforscht werden“.
Das Kulturbüro Rheinland-Pfalz wurde 1993 von der Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Soziokultur und Kulturpädagogik gegründet.
